Striving to give outstanding customer service, the Development Services Department was established to centralize all development related services for the unincorporated communities of Yavapai County. All of the services provided are designed to protect property, the public health, safety and welfare through addressing, building safety, permitting, planning, land use enforcement and environmental services. Staff also maintains the County’s Comprehensive Plan and provides services to both our Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Adjustments

Yavapai County Development Services Proposed Fee Updates

Yavapai County Development Services is proposing fee updates for its Building Safety, Planning, and Environmental units. These fees have not been adjusted in several years – 2018, 2012, and 1999, respectively. Currently, fees only cover 59% of operating costs, significantly below the historical rate of 90-95%. Rising expenses and increased workload due to county growth necessitate these updates.

YCDS Environmental Unit Goes Live with Virtual Inspections!

Yavapai County Development Services has enhanced its inspection services by expanding Vuspex Video Inspections to include video and remote inspections for the Environmental Unit, specifically benefiting septic customers. This convenient option allows homeowners and contractors to complete conventional and alternative septic inspections remotely.

Home of My Home - Introducing Three New Plans!

Yavapai County Development Services is proud to announce that their award-winning Home of My Own program now includes an additional three floorplans that are now available for download! The Home of My Own program now offers six preapproved construction plans for homes that property owners can download free of charge to build on their properties. The floorplans include a one-, two-, and three-bdrm.
