Mission Statement
Our mission, as public servants of the Yavapai County Recorder’s Office, is to excel in our commitment to provide courteous and efficient customer service, while maintaining superior quality in our archival and records management procedures to provide convenient public access to all Recorder’s records; and to promote the success of the democratic process in the administration of Voter Registration and Election procedures by promoting public trust and confidence at the highest level.
Many documents are required by law to be public record, and the Recorder’s Office has classified, indexed and imaged all recorded documents in Yavapai County since 1864. All records are permanently preserved on microfilm according to national archival standards.
The documents recorded by the Yavapai County Recorder’s Office include real estate transactions, mortgages, deeds of trust, family trusts, personal property related documents, tax liens, mining notices, subdivision plats, and surveys, just to list a few.
Our records are available online back to 1953. We also have online all recorded subdivision plats and recorded surveys.
Yavapai County has two full service Recorder’s Offices to serve the public, one in Prescott and one in Cottonwood. Our recording volume is the fourth highest in the State of Arizona.
In addition to recording documents, Voter Registration, by statute, is under the Recorder’s Office and works very closely with the Elections Department.
It is the commitment of this office to ensure that we stay on the leading edge in our field, and provide excellent customer service.
We welcome suggestions and comments and look forward to hearing from our customers.
