Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Solicits Letters of Interest for Seligman Justice Court Justice of the Peace

At its regular meeting on February 18, 2026, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors accepted the resignation of Judge Dominick Sarno, Justice of the Peace for the Seligman Justice Court, effective April 11, 2026. The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors is soliciting Letters of Interest and Resumes for appointment to the position of Seligman Justice Court Justice of the Peace. The individual selected for appointment will serve until the candidate elected in the upcoming General Election on November 3, 2026, takes the oath of office. Those qualified to serve as Justice of the Peace must, at the time of appointment, be 18 years of age or older, a resident of the state, an elector of the county or precinct in which the duties of the office are exercised, and be able to read and write the English language.

In addition, according to ARS §16-230, the Board of Supervisors shall appoint a person of the same political party as the person vacating the office to fill the portion of the term until the next regular general election. The presiding Justice of the Peace was elected as a member of the Republican Party.

Persons interested in appointment to the position of Seligman Justice Court Justice of the Peace should send a Letter of Interest and Resume by mail, hand delivery, or email to: Clerk of the Board of Supervisors 1015 Fair St. 3rd Floor, Room 310 Prescott, AZ 86305 clerkoftheboard.web@yavapaiaz.gov Letters of Interest and Resumes must be received by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors by 5:00 P.M., on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

The Board of Supervisors will consider the Letters of Interest and Resumes and may appoint a replacement for the Seligman Justice Court Justice of the Peace at their regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
