Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Convenes Executive Session; Appoints Phil Bourdon as County Manager

Yavapai County, AZ – The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors convened a special executive session today to discuss and deliberate matters pertaining to the appointment of a County Manager.

Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes §38−431.03(A)(1) (personnel matters), (A)(3) (legal advice), and (A)(4) (discussion or consultation with attorneys), the Board met to receive legal advice, consult with legal counsel, and discuss the appointment of a County Manager, along with the consideration of associated terms of employment and an employment agreement.

Following the executive session, the Board returned to open session and took formal action on the agenda item and appointed Phil Bourdon to serve as the County Manager. The anticipated start date will be October 20, 2025.

Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Chair Mary Mallory said, "I am looking forward to working with Phil Bourdon and anticipating a great 2026. Phil will have a terrific team supporting him, and together, we will accomplish amazing things next year."
