Yavapai County Leaders Detail Strategic Future at State of the County Event; Inaugural Community Award Presented
Yavapai County, Arizona – More than 400 community members and business leaders gathered on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, for the inaugural Yavapai County State of the County Event, where county leaders underscored a commitment to future-focused planning and responsible fiscal management. The event, held at the Findlay Toyota Center, also featured a highly successful business expo and the presentation of a new community award.
Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Chair Mary Mallory addressed the crowd, highlighting the county's proactive approach to growth and service delivery. "That's why I am proud that Yavapai County is planning for the future through the creation of the first-ever Strategic Plan, the first-ever Facilities Master Plan, and the first-ever Rural Services Master Plan to insure we continue to offer the appropriate services where they are needed," said Chair Mallory.

Vice Chair Brooks Compton reinforced the county's financial health, noting that sound fiscal policies are paving the way for future investment. "Responsible fiscal management is what allows us to plan and invest in our community's long-term needs," said Vice Chair Compton. "Because of these efforts, we were recently awarded a bond rating upgrade, reducing costs for any future capital improvement projects."
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the first-ever Community and Collaboration Award. Chair Mallory proudly presented this inaugural award to Steven and Sue Rutherford for their outstanding contributions to the community.
All five supervisors were present at the event, demonstrating a unified front on county leadership. The gathering also included a business expo that was a huge success, providing ample opportunities for networking and discussing future business opportunities within the community.
