Workforce Development Board

Yavapai County is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Lefever as its new Workforce Development Director. Lefever brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in workforce development to this critical role.

Lefever joins the Yavapai County Workforce Development team from Yavapai College, where he served as the Program Director/ Title II Representative, Yavapai County Workforce Development Board/ Title II Representative, Arizona Tribal Workforce Development Board/ E.S.O.L. Coordinator / Educational Technology Expert, and Adult Basic Education Program (ABE) Program Director. In this capacity, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the region's workforce needs. His extensive experience includes collaborating with local businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations to develop and implement effective workforce development programs.

A distinguished graduate of Northern Arizona University, Lefever holds a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA-TESL). He also earned a Certified Manager in Program Improvement (CMPI) from Ohio University in 2011.

"I am really looking forward to this unique opportunity to serve the residents of Yavapai County as their new Workforce Director," said Lefever. "I sincerely hope that my relevant skills and local experiences will help to guide the Yavapai County Workforce Development Board during these increasingly difficult economic times."

Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Chair Mary Mallory stated, “Lefever's educational background, coupled with his hands-on experience in workforce development, positions him as an ideal leader to navigate the challenges and opportunities facing Yavapai County’s workforce. His expertise will be instrumental in developing innovative strategies to address the evolving needs of employers and job seekers in the region.”

Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Brooks Compton added. “We are confident that Lefever’s leadership will strengthen the efforts of this County to promote economic growth and create meaningful employment opportunities for the residents of Yavapai County.”
