YAVAPAI COUNTY DECLARES LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY DUE TO SEVERE FLOODING AND INFRASTRUCTURE IMPACTS
YAVAPAI COUNTY, AZ — The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors today issued a formal Declaration of Emergency following severe weekend weather and prolonged rainfall across central and northern Arizona. Rapidly rising water levels along major rivers and local drainages have triggered life-threatening flash floods, forced mandatory evacuations, and resulted in critical road closures throughout the region.
The declaration allows Yavapai County to mobilize additional emergency management resources, request state-level assistance, and streamline response efforts across county departments and local jurisdictions.
Executive Statements
"Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our residents," said Brooks Compton, Chair of the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors. "Issuing this Declaration of Emergency ensures our Emergency Management team and first responders have immediate access to the necessary funding and coordination channels to protect life and property."
