Elevation Certificate

National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) (FEMA Form 81-31)

Elevation Certificates are required by the NFIP on buildings in high risk flood areas (also known as Special Flood Hazard Areas) to document compliance with  Development Permits. The elevation certificate serves as a record of the elevation of the lowest floor of any new building or substantially improved construction in the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA).

  • Elevation Certificates are available on structures built in SFHA, at the Flood Control District offices.
