Striving to give outstanding customer service, the Development Services Department was established to centralize all development related services for the unincorporated communities of Yavapai County. All of the services provided are designed to protect property, the public health, safety and welfare through addressing, building safety, permitting, planning, land use enforcement and environmental services. Staff also maintains the County’s Comprehensive Plan and provides services to both our Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Adjustments

Environmental Unit - Current Review Times

Status for the week of July 27, 2026 - July 31, 2026:

Current Septic Review Times: 

4 weeks out on first review.

Current Inspections Times:
Virtual: Next day
- Same day for re-inspections only
Onsite: 1-2 days
- Tuesday: Floating Inspection Area (as staffing capacity allows)
- Wednesday: Southeast (Spring Valley, Cordes, and Black Canyon City)
- Thursday: North (Seligman, Ask Fork, and Paulden North of Road 5)
- Friday: Southwest (Skull Valley, Kirkland, Congress, and Wickenburg)

 

** NOTE ** The proposed changes to inspections only apply to the Prescott office. The Cottonwood office will continue to inspect throughout the week as usual.
